Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned this 40x60 three times, and two of those were the same example (and the first example was auctioned 28 years before that)! Also, note that a knowledgeable collector tells us that while in England when this movie was first released, he saw a standee with this image at a theater (but we doubt any of those have survived)! Note that collectors usually do not paperback posters larger than a one-sheet, likely because of the possibility of a larger poster being damaged when it has no linen backing. The advantage of paperbacking is that it still looks and feels like an unrestored poster, and that is definitely the case with this poster (but greater care must be taken in handling it, although that will of course no longer be true once it is framed). Note that because this poster was rolled (with the image outward) soon after it was paperbacked, it will be sent to the winning bidder rolled in a 6" wide tube that measures 42 inches long. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Someone had once folded this poster, and it had some creases and scuffs on parts of the folds and some scattered in the rest of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
